Jagdtiger Dragon 1/35
« on: March 19, 2013, 07:55:21 PM »
And after almost fifteen years without building a tank decided to by a Trumpeter KV-1's where I'm experimenting techniques that had never used, using oils and pigments.
Now decided to start Dragon's Jagdtiger.1/35.
Having never experienced nor have the necessary equipment will use a paint scheme without Zimmerit. I did it once with the technique of soldering iron.

The model.

Already started construction. Glued to the front and back of the upper hull, the cannon, and wheels.

Glued the rear of the lower hull. Once that was done I used plastic rod and liquid cement technique to simulate weld lines along the hull plates in the rear of the tank. The next thing to address was the plates of the armor. These were cut very roughly on the real vehicles. How was the first time I think is not bad.

Below is the painting of the inside.

All comments and helps are welcome.

Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching.

I painted the cannon. I know that after the hull closed will not see anything. It will serve to learn and apply the the chipped paint and oils.

And the learning continues with oils.

For exhausts stay rough,I applied putty diluted in acetone. Then painted with dark yellow (Tamiya XF-60). After  maskol with a sponge at the bottom the exhausts and painted with Red Brown (XF-64 Tamiya). Finally applied oils.

Hope you enjoy.

Edi

My showcase.

The bases for the models were made by a friend.

My war are aircraft models that I build since 2009 after almost ten years without building a model. Never used oils and pigments only used for exhaust pipes of the aircraft models. Tanks, as I said, almost fifteen years ago that do not build any.

I completed the painting in interiors. Chipped paint and a wash with a product called Bitumen of Judea.

Regards and thanks for watching.

good job on interior m8....nice chipping....
but....interior isn't white.....needs to be some ivory color....
you can fix this with flesh tone color and make filter...95% thinner and 5% color
try on some place which would not be visible just to see result....
filters are good stuff

Edi

I'll slower a little.

As for the color of the interiors will try to give a wash. Once let one or two hatches open will no longer make the same mistake.

Thank you.

The weekend was good. Plenty of time on the bench so I advanced the model.

I completed the lower hull ...

and the upper hull. Here replace the handles, made by copper wire and pins.

The support of the barrel.

The suspensions.

Thanks Edie.

And is ready for painting. After almost all glued, was only join the two halves of the hull and make a few things more.

Here a small gap.

Solved with a weld. Also finished cutting the plate, and glued the EP's support of the barrel and PE's.

good job on painting and good choice of color :)
try to add grips now ... you have just one layer of color....all mistakes can be fixed without problems...

Lights. The shadows (very diluted black) will apply them only at the end since I will apply camouflage with the three colors.

I decided finally make a diorama. As my skills are very weak, I decided to buy a Mini Art diorama.

Misfortune :-[. The Jagdtiger is too big. It'll be for another.

so far so good....  :bravo::

keep the colors lighter ... filters, washes and other weathering will make it darker
but you already noticed this

for the diorama, i can recommend one of the latest Miniart releases: Ardennes street dio

here is how JT fits to this dio......perfect!
